Happy Tuesday. Welcome to my weekly self-care check-in.
This week’s reminders will be fairly short, but I’d like to leave you with a challenge.
Quiet moments:
Do you take them?
Do you connect in those moments?
My challenge this week is to connect in the quiet moments.
- A phone call to a friend or loved one
- Meditation or yoga alone or with a partner
- A quiet walk in the fresh air
- A calm environment, comfy chair, and peaceful activity – sitting, drinking coffee, tea, or anything in safe liquid form, reading or journaling
How can you connect with yourself, a friend, or a loved one this week in quiet moments?
Peace comes from within, so nurture your peaceful place with self-care and self-love.
Reflection in these quiet moments is perfect, but try not to rehash difficult times in these quiet moments.
These are special, so protect them with healthy boundaries.
Tomorrow my blog will dive into my daughter’s first-grade year – almost ten years ago – where I first truly noticed the signs of major differences in her mental state and just how her coping affecting my own coping.
Today, I’ve already faced her truth with hateful words and accusations targeting me and my parenting – and boundaries setting my workday over a conversation I asked to end because it was not productive nor the right time to have it.
I ended my day yesterday with a walk with my partner and daughter and started the day with a cup of coffee on the patio with the same two people. It’s these quiet moments that keep me centered.
Search for the quiet moments and relish them like the warm sun after a cool rainy day — Not that I know much about those out here in the desert.
Until tomorrow…
Be well.
